Local Nonprofit Raising Money, Awareness, and Feet in Second Annual
Walk
The Red Devils will sponsor the second annual “Heart and
Sole Stroll” July 25, 2004, at Centennial Lake in Columbia,
Maryland.
Approximately 4,200 people living in Maryland will be diagnosed
with breast cancer this year. About 1,200 are women – and
men – who live in Baltimore City, Baltimore County, and Howard
County.
To raise money to support these individuals and their families,
a local nonprofit group, The Red Devils, is sponsoring the second
annual “Heart and Sole Stroll.” The organization hopes
to raise at least $85,000 by way of walker registrations, donations,
and corporate sponsorships. The money raised will go toward support
services like house cleaning, transportation, and dinners for the
families.
The non-competitive walk begins at 9 a.m. on Sunday, July 25, with
families, friends, children and dog walkers welcome. Walk-up registration
begins at 8:30 a.m.

The Red Devils is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that provides
support services to families in Maryland living with breast cancer.
Recipients are selected through the organization’s relationships
with hospitals in Baltimore City, Baltimore County, and Howard County.
The Red Devils takes its name from the bright red chemotherapy drug
Adriamycin, known to breast cancer patients as “the red devil.”
